The Rain Gave In... But it Still Affected the Track!

When the rains stopped... The promoters busted tail to get the races in.  As many other tracks sat under water!  The Speedzone's drainage system came through.  Promoters were facing a track that was to wet the last time they raced.  Which  was then followed by nearly 11 days of rain.  Facing a decision of calling the races off and sitting out on a great night for racing.  They opted for "The Show Must Go On"...  Anyone that has been around dirt track racing knows your going to have nights with rough tracks, dusty tracks, & Great fast tracks.  The thing is, everyone faces the same track during the race.  As the old saying goes, "You have to finish the race to Win!"  Which means drivers must know the limits of their cars. The race becomes a combination of many competitors... the driver, his car, his opponents, & the track, all of which want to win!

Drivers that understand this golden rule... are likely to find themselves in Victory Lane like Jay Schaufnagle #10 Mod did.  Those that don't understand it, will likely find themselves on the back of a hook on the way to the pits.  In the mod feature Jay held off veteran driver Brian Drexler  #8 for the win.  Chris Engels #28 came in third.  The Grand Nationals put on quite a show... Early on it looked as if Dan Wirl # 84 was going to run away with the race, as he navigated the rough track like a pro building a 5 or 6 car cushion between his next nearest competitors.  Then came the cautions... After the first caution Dan held on and was building his cushion again!  The 2nd caution gave Brad Mueller #5m the edge allowing him to get by Dan for the win. Dan held on for 2nd followed by Adam Pugh in the #71 and Tim Doehling.

Once again The American Auto Street Stocks put on one heck of a show.  Mark Schultz drove a hard race looking to get his #70 into Victory Lane. Despite all his efforts #19 Dave Hoerning held on  to bring home the win. Jeff Jahnke held on for third putting Gerry Kope in fourth.

The Total Power Hobby Stock division seems to be growing some... Now with 7 cars showing.  They drove a hard clean race with Jared Baughman #5 grabbing the win! Followed by Rob Dollevet #7 second and #71 Greg Steffens coming home third.

Last but not least the Coors Lite Dirt Devils took to the track.  The race looked as if it was going to run green to checkers.  The it started... and by the time Bob Fahser took the checker there were two roll over and tempers flew.  All the drama didn't stop David Fisher #71 from grabbing 2nd, just in front of John Hall in the #96.  That kind of wraps up the racing action.

From the fans race experience... The Crunch of the night is back at the zone thanks to Festival Foods in Oshkosh.  That's right race fans... The Girls or the Speedzone's girls garage will be throwing the bite size crunch bars into the stands when ever a wreck on the track qualifies as a crunch of the night!  All thanks to Festival foods... Great Stuff for not a lot of Money!

The Kids Club planning is coming together and will officially begin on the June 16th race night.  Some Lucky kids from the Kids Club will win a ride in the Big Festival Foods Shopping Cart that nigh as well as all the normal fun stuff that goes on.
