When the Budweiser Mods went out for the
feature the air had cooled off to a point I had to get the
sweatshirt out of the van. the race was not to be with out some
cautions. It wasn't long and there was a heavy 3 car wreck on
the front stretch and moments late another in turns 1 &
2. After the carnage was removed it would be Scott Mullen
in the #1 Budweiser mod that would take command for his first
feature win of the season at the zone. Chris Engels had his #29
dialed in grabbing second. Modified Points leader, Oshkosh's
Brian Drexler can home third. The Coors Light Dirt Devils
kept them all on 4 wheels this week. John Hall ran away with the
race like a rocket on rails taking the win hands down. Dave
Wilkins in the Purple #222 gave chase but had to settle for
second. Gordy Lewis came in third, followed by Ron Paulick Jr. in
the #20
The Total Power Hobby Stocks ran another clean race... Setting
up a 3 way tie for the point championship. As it shook out it
was Marshall T. Mullenix in the #51 taking the win, followed by
Jared Baughman in the #5 Paul Steffen's Grabbed third. As of
last week no new Baby in the Steffen's Team... Maybe this week!
When
the American Auto Street Stocks rumbled to the track for the
feature... Jerry Kope was packing a Pink Ricoshay's Tap
Hat. Eirc gave it to Jerry and told him if he could wear
it in Victory Lane Ricoshay's would Donate $100.00 to Breast
Cancer Research. Jerry did just that winning the feature.
Now, Jerry has to pass the hat on to someone else. If they
win... Ricoshay's donates another $100.00. Kyle Kudick in
the 4KK put on a hard charge, but had to settle for second,
followed by Ken Feavel in the #97
The Miller Lite Grand National Put on one heck of a show.
When the checkers flew it was new comer Brad Mueller in the #5m
taking home the hardware. He was followed by Brian Gerber
in the #38 for second, with Tommy Moore kicking at the door for
third. Special Grand National Drivers Notice: M/R racing
is holding a multi track meeting for Grand Nationals Drivers on
Aug. 16th. The meeting is in regards to division rules. Contact
M/R Racing for more Info.
This
week fan will got to see the WDLMA, late Models at the
Zone. We want to thank Seubert
Calf Ranches for the adding a chunk of change to the
purse for the race. The late models were racing for
$1600.00 to Win! With a 27 car field, when the double checkers
flew, it was # 74 taking the win.
