County Fair & Late Models at the Zone

Oh what a night, With the county fair in town and the late models fans were in for a real treat. With a start time scheduled for 7:00 I think we all knew we were in for a long night of racing with 6 divisions.  Poster autograph night was a huge hit with all the fans. Thanks again, go out to Valley Graphics for the posters & their continued support!

Also,  50 lucky fans got back packs filled with goodies,  Thanks  to the race team of modified driver Chris Engles and his sponsor DPI Printing of Oshkosh.  They will again be doing the 50 back pack giveaway at fan appreciation night Aug.18th.  GOT FIREWORKS?  We will this coming Friday and it is going to be HUGE.  Central States Fireworks is going to put on a $20,000.00 plus show.  So be sure you don't miss Fan Appreciation Night!  Last week we had a first at the zone, with Loren and Amanda Rangloff both winning their heat races. Amanda wanted to stay in victory lane to congratulate dad on his win.  So I put them both on Victory Lane with their Sponge Bob Square Pants Cars.  It was a true Kodak moment!

The Budweiser Mods took to the track for their feature and Kicked up another Dust Storm, Part way throw the race track workers pushed the big tires out further to keep the cars on the racing surface and the dust storm went away.  It was a hard fought battle... when the yellow /checkers flew

The Coors Light Dirt Devils ran a good Clean race even with the full moon in the sky! When the race was in the history books it was the Purple Monster #222 of Dave Wilkins talking home the hardware with the win. Matt Oreskovich #75 put on a strong charge but had to settle for second, followed by Gordy Lewis in the #87.  Ron Paulick Jr. Old Faithful, took fourth again.  Ron is either in 4th or victory lane... But he still managed to hold on to the points lead.

The Total Power Hobby Stocks ran another good race, with Marshall T. Mullenix #51 bringing the field home for the win. Marshal was followed by Chris Delrow #16 who ran a great race. Greg Steffens #71 snagged third.

When the American Auto Street Stocks took to the track for the feature... It was dusty.   When the dust settled it was points leader Jerry Kope #4 taking the win, with the #28 of  Dave Avercamp  taking second. David Madell #3 snagged third, followed by the # 9 Cozmic Cowboy Franky Formiller.

Again the Miller Lite Grand National put on a super show!  It looked like Tim Doelhing was going to run away with the race.
But, Brad Mueller in the #5m was not going to just lay down. With every caution, Brad challenged Tim hard.  When the race ended under caution it was Tim that held on for the win.  Being that it was American Auto Sales night at the races, it was a must win for Tim and his sponsor!   Brad Mueller took second, with the hard charging Dan Wirl in the #84 closing fast, but he just ran out of laps and had to settle for third.
