Fan Appreciation Night Finishes with a Big Bang of Color & Music

For the fans that may have missed this night... It was your loss!  The racing was great.  There was tons of prizes, I couldn't believe the line up of prizes the fans took home. Bikes, DVD players, Boom Boxes, Tool boxes, Back Packs & Speedzone T-shirts.  We want to thank all the people and companies that donated the prizes.  I would list them here... But, I know I would forget someone, as we had a plethora of prizes.  Thank you all for making the night a success!

Then there was the totally Awsome Fireworks Display that  Central States Fireworks put on.  It was super, I thought the fans were going to stomp the grandstand down.  The DJ Tops played tunes after the Fireworks, they also gave the PA System the once over! The sound system is again totally working and a wireless mic was added to the mix.  Janelle of the Speedzone Girlz Garage did a great job interviewing the drivers in Victory Lane. This is a long awaited feature of the show.  We had some new faces showing up in Victory Lane for heats and cons.  After Dan Wirl blew up his motor... Things didn't look good for the Grand National points leader.  Then the young, rookie, Keith Schroeder of the #34 Grand National offered to give up his ride to Dan after winning his heat, and making the feature.  That is real sportsmanship!  Thanks to Keith, Dan manage to stay tied for the points lead.

The Budweiser Mods took to the track for their feature the race was cursed with cautions again.  In between cautions there was some great battles for position. In the end it was Paul Parker in the #63 snatching the win away from Ryan Besaw who took second with Dave Diemel hot on his tail for third. All three were being chased down by a hard charging pack of other drives.

The Coors Light Dirt Devils ran a good race! They kept all the cars on their wheels this week. When the checkers flew it was John Hall #96 taking the win. Gordy Lewis put on a hard charge, but had to settle for a second.  Ron Paulick Jr. #20 Mr. Old Faithful... I finish fourth weekly... snagged third this week!!!! leaving fourth place for Dan Emery in the #11

The Total Power Hobby Stocks were looking for a clean sweep from the #1 car of Shane Van Handel after he ran away with the dash race.  But it was not to be... When they came to the checkers it was Greg Steffens in the #71 grabbing the win. His brother Paul in the #75 took second, Marshall T. Mullenix #51 hung on for third.

The American Auto Street Stocks nearly ran Green to checkers.  It was a great race!   When they came to the line, it was Mark Schultz taking the win in the #70, with the #4 of Jerry Kope knocking at the door for second. The Cozmic Cowboy   # 9  Franky Formiller seems to have finally gotten a handle on his cars set up.  Frank finished a strong third for the night.

Again the Miller Lite Grand National put on a super show with minimal cautions. In the end it was Tim Doehling in the American Auto Sales #5 taking the win.  Tommy Moore nearly drove the wheels off his car, but had to settle for second. Adam Pugh ran hard to bring home third.  Dan Wirl driving the barrowed #34 car of Keith Schroeder managed to stay tied for the Grand National points lead.
