Kope Locks Up 4th Street Stock Championship

The season is drawing to an end.  With that, new champions will be crowned.  Jerry Kope #4k didn't wait for the final night. With the points race so close between Jerry and Mark Schultz, Mark needed a text book night to hang on.  To Mark's disappointment it was not to be.  Mark had troubles in the feature, leaving Jerry Kope the championship for the 4th year running.  The rest of the divisions are all really close also, you will not want to miss this Friday's Race as it is the final points night.  Everyone will be trying to pull that ace out of their sleeve to capture a championship.  So hold on to your seats race fans... It's going to be a barn burner this coming week!  This week the sky looked like rain all day... the phone was ring off the hook at the track all day.  Many fans missed out on some really great races... we didn't get any rain and the racing was great!  Fans really need to come out even if it looks like in may rain... Please, show your support for the track!  The lucky fan pictured here in the pass car does... and he went for the ride of his life in the American Auto Pace Car...

Plan now to attend the Autumn Fest Mid-Wisconsin Championships on Sept. 15th & 16th. It's going to be a great show with 6 divisions!  All heat races will be Friday Night with the visiting Sport Mod  division running a full show.  Fallowed by a Barn Dance in Barn E just off the West end of the Grandstand. Saturday, take in the fun events of Autumn Fest during the day... then come to the races when the consolation races & features will be run. Also the Total Power Hobby Stocks will run a full show on Sat. Night! Fans & Races are welcome to camp if they would like!

When the Budweiser Mods took to the track for their feature race it was again cursed by cautions.  When all was said and done, it was John Schultz #37 getting his first ever feature win! John was followed by Chris Engels in the DPI Printing #29 for second. Scott Mullens #1 charged hard trying to gain points on points leader Brian Drexler.  Scott finished third, with Brian grabbing fourth.

The Coors Light Dirt Devils ran a tight race!  When the checkers flew it was John Hall #96 again taking the win. Gordy Lewis put on a hard charge, but had to settle for third as Ron Paulick Jr. #20 Mr. Old Faithful... I finish fourth weekly... snagged second this week!!!!

The Total Power Hobby Stocks were looking for a clean sweep from the #5x car of Jared Baughman after he won the dash race.  When they came to the checkers it was indeed Jared with the clean sweep!  Paul Steffens in the #75 grabbing second.  Marshall T. Mullenix #51 hung on for third.

The American Auto Street Stocks ran another exciting race.  As I said last week the #9 of Frank Formiller was coming on strong! The cozmic coyboy had the field covered, even the #4 of Jerry Kope couldn't catch him, but Jerry snagged second and enough points to grab the championship for the 4th year in a row. Dave Averkamp # 28 charged into third at the checkers.

Patty Winkler in the # 23 was really excited after she won her first ever heat race... Way to go Girl!

Again the Miller Lite Grand National put on a super show with minimal cautions. With the points championship all tied up! Some real battles took place! In the end it was  again Tim Doehling in the American Auto Sales #5 taking the win.  Nick Schumacher drove his heart out to capture second. Dan Wirl charged from the back to take third, which kept the points tied. Watch this weeks race close... as Champion will be born!
