Miss Oshkosh & Off-Road Visit The Zone!

The Mid-Wisconsin Dirt Track Championships is in the books. For those that were in attendance, they seen some great racing and had a chance to meet Janelle Larie Miss Oshkosh 2006. Friday night the Sport Mods & Grand Nationals ran a full show! The Sports Mods ran some great clean races. The put on quite a show. The Grand Nationals ran a hard, fast, show with a number of cautions. Fans were treated to some off-road races too... Long time track supporter Terry Friday asked if he could bring in a small off-road show. Terry, has created a new Sanctioning Body ( SOrTA )for the sport. Terry wanted to lunch his new Series & Sanctioning at Oshkosh. Terry will be working hard this winter to put this venue together. Terry wants to make Oshkosh one of the stops on the 2007 season. It would be a full 2-day show of it's own. We want to wish Terry all the luck, and hope he will return off road racing to what it once was!

Saturday Night proved to be a great night of racing, the track was tacky & smooth for most of the night. The Mods put on a super show... turning some of the fastest lap times of the season. They did have some cautions in the 30 lap race, but it was still one heck of a race. When the checkers flew it was #9 taking the win.

	When the Dirt Devils took to the track for there feature track Speedzone champion Ron Paulick Jr. was looking for a win. He ran a hard race... he was held up in lapped traffic and things were not looking real good. The 30 lap race seen a lot of cars fall out and when the checkers came out it was indeed the Orange # 20 taking the win! The Street Stocks ran a exciting race... Track Champion Jerry Kope had his new car out. He ran a hard race after having problems Friday Night. But when the checkers flew. The # 28 was just to much to over come. Dave Averkamp won, with The Total Power Hobby Stocks ran a clean race which was won by Paul Steffens. They also ran a Special Tire Race sponsored by Ricoshay's Tap of Oshkosh. It was #17 taking that win, being the last one running with the tire on his hood. This Friday is the last race night, with the IRA Sprints, Grand Nationals, Mods, & Street Stocks.
