Speedzone Sprints To A Super Finish

The day didn't start off looking real good for getting the IRA Sprint Car Show in. But, by race time the skies turned blue and the rain held off the rest of the night.  The racing was some of the best of the season.  With the regular Speedzone announcer off doing high school football.  Jeff Lemiesz & Terry Friday made a great effort to keep the fans on top of the action.  Now that the season is in the books, it's time to turn our thoughts to the awards banquet.  I hear it is going to be a Mardi Gras theme. The Awards Banquet is always a great time.  I encourage everyone to attend. Yes, even the fans.  It's a great time to meet the drivers. So remember to mark your Calendar for Oct. 21st. at the Expo Center out by the track.

I hear that the first thing on the 2007 Schedule is a USSA Snowmobile Event!  So as much as I hate to say it, THINK SNOW!  The 2007 Tentative Schedule will be up on the site real soon!  I hear there is going to be Late Models nearly every week, the Fastrack Late Models will be coming. The promoters are holding a post season meeting with the employees. So management has asked me, to ask for your in put... Please send us your ideas and thoughts by e-mail. I know, I will be doing a make over on some parts of the website during the off season.  So now that I got all that out of the way... I can re-cap the racing from the final night at the Zone!

The Street Stocks ran a clean exciting race... Track Champion Jerry Kope drove a hard race moving to the front fast. But when the checkers flew The Cozmic Cowboy... Franky Formiller #9 over took the champion for the win. Franky was followed by the #28 of Dave Averkamp, leaving third for place for Jerry Kope.

The Grand Nationals took to the track with some new faces and when the checkers flew it was the new faces in Victory Lane. Don Sorce #99s grabbed the win, with Tim Warner in the #03 taking second. Dan Schumacher drive hard to bring the #93 home in third.

The Mods took to the track with a full field... By the time we were done with all the cautions the field was shortened to just twelve.  Paul Parker fought his way to the front to take the win. Paul was fallowed by Tim Warner in the 03 for second. It was Dan Schumacher in the 93 taking home third.

The Ira Sprints Put on one heck of a show, when the dust settled it was John Sernett in the 91 snatching the win. He was followed by Todd King in the #97. Travis Whitney held on for third.
