Mother Nature Unleashes the Cold on Shootout!

The Coors Light Silver Bullet Shootout was the first official event of 2007.  It was Mother Nature who unleashed the cold, not the Coors Light!  With temps at 0 to -12 and bone cracking wind chills, few fans were ready to brave the cold to see the USSA sno-cross racers battle at the zone. Those who did come out on Saturday did see some exciting, hi flying races. Sunday, proved to be even colder, keeping even the racers away. The USSA had to pull the plug on the Sunday show due to the lack of racers.  In the warming pavilion Jeff Curtin, Regional Director of the Fastrak Racing Series had his  New Late Model on display.  If you haven't heard yet... Fastrak Late Models will be featured each week in 2007 at the zone.  The cold didn't keep Miss Snow Flake away from the event. She was on hand to represent snow mobileing in Wisconsin. She also thought the late model was pretty cool too. The Speedzone would like to thank everyone who helped make the first ever sno-cross event at the zone a reality.  From the Winnebago Snow Pioneers, Ultimate Linings of Fond du lac & all the Volunteer workers. I'm sure know one will ever for this event... It is kind of like our own Ice Bowl.  The race season is just a few months a way... It is shaping up quite well. Stay tuned to this site for up dates on the up coming season, starting off with Our Racecar Show and Shine during Speed Weeks for the Zone. We will be looking for cars that are done to put on display around the area at some Festival Foods Stores. If your car will be ready?  Please let Dennis Payne know, if you would like your car on display some place.
