Freedom Home Mortgage Brings on Celebrations!

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful night for racing as we had for the Freedom Home
Mortgage Mid-season Points Championship. What better way to celebrate our great country but with Racing & Fireworks which we did... However, Speedzone fans also had the chance to see the celebration of a very long time racer... One who has been racing longer then most fans in the stands are old. That's right, Charlie Ewald turned 62 and he has been racing since I was just a little tike going to the old Leo's Speedway in Oshkosh.  As things got under way, Charlie was directed to Victory Lane where his family, fans, & fellow racers had a birthday wish embellished on a sign in victory lane. He was interviewed by Turn4 Magazine and Jennel of the Speezone's Girls Garage. Be sure to read the article about Charlie in Turn4 Magazine.  Joni form Freedom Home Mortgage had a great time at her race and hopes to help many Speedzone fans with their American Dream of Home Ownership. So, if your renting and want to own... give Joni a call, she does make dreams a reality.  Also, another lucky Kids Club Member won a shinny new bike from kids club.

The Budweiser Fastrak Late Models took to the track for the Feature with a field of 18 cars. Points Leader Tom Naeyaet #9 took the win after some cautions and confusion
with line ups. Dan Wanta in the 27w chased down Scott Lewis in the #6 to take second. Dave Fieber in the #1 fallowed suit taking third, with Scotty to come home in fourth.

The Coors Light Modifieds started with a full field of 20 cars.  Many were hoping the race would go green to checkers as last weeks feature did. But that was not happening. As the checkers flew, it was Jay Schraufnagel in the #10 taking the win again. Joey McGrath #74 snagged second, and he was followed home by Mike Mullen in the #70

The Total Power Sales Street Stocks feature went into the books with Jerry Winkler #2 taking the win. Greg Steffens in the #71 held off Brian Drexler & Jerry Kope for second as they played cat and mouse with each other for quite a few laps. When the game was over, it was Brian taking third with Kope hot on his tail for fourth.

The Miller Lite Grand Nationals provided some good racing after a rash of yellows early. Tim Doehling in the #5 had the field covered and took home the iron easy. Dave Teske #51 grabbed second, fallowed by Adam Pugh in the #71 for third.

Like last week, the Lynn's Service Center Dirt Devils got the chance to run their feature earlier again.  As the fans seen last week this division is exciting to watch also.  It was a pretty un-eventful race until Amanda Rangeloff # 68 got turned around and was clobbered head on by a fellow driver.  She was ok, as she got out to wave at the fans. When the checkers flew... It would be Al Cottrell in the #00 making the clean sweep winning both his heat and the feature. Ron Paulick Jr. in the #20 came home second, with Gordy Lewis #87 securing third.
