Mother Nature Makes Coors Light Showdown a Little Rough !

Race fans came from near and far to pay tribute to LeRoy Dehn.  For those who didn't know LeRoy, he was to racing in Oshkosh, as butter is to toast.  LeRoy supported many who raced at the old Leo's Speedway over the years, however, his main focus was the #20 Car of The Outlaw... Dave Conger.  LeRoy was still heavy into racing at the Speedzone when we lost him.  He worked with the #22K & 22D street stocks.  The Speedzone would like to thank all the fans that came out to the First Annual LeRoy Dehn Memorial Race, we know the family also appreciated your outstanding support to make this a great race.  To everyone happiness, Todd Behling was back behind the Speedzone microphone calling the action. As the race day began Mike Robe was discussed, things were not going his way with track prep. The water truck would not start, he could not find the hoses for filling the water truck! He told me he was running way behind and to be ready for a dusty night.  Well, if that's all it takes, I'll hind his hoses every week and leave the dome light on in the water truck.  Because we were treated to one of the best racetracks of the year!  As you know, this week our race will be on Tuesday in conjunction with the Winnebago County Fair.  Admittance to the Fair gets you into the races.

The Budweiser Fastrak Late Models hit the track hard and put on some great racing. When the checkers flew if was AJ Miller #55 grabbing his first feature win, holding off the charge of Jeff Curtin in the #11 Craig Bartz #85 made the outside work for his car as he worked his way up to take third place way from Oshkosh's Dennis Schultz #39 who settled for fourth place.

The Coors Light Modifieds started with a full field of 20 cars.  When this one settles into the record books it was Brian Drexler #8 taking his second feature win in his modified. Chris Engels #29 gave Drexler a good run for the win even after a earlier mishap that left his #29 stack on top of another car. Mike Mullen #70 was charging hard from further back but just to run out of laps and took home third.

The Total Power Sales Street Stocks feature had a number of cautions that opened the door for Jerry Winkler and Jerry Kope to take First and second, with Brian Drexler hot on their tail for third.

The Miller Lite Grand Nationals feature offered up some good racing, it looked as though the #14 of Will Sorch was going to run away with the win. When the caution flew Will's car went up in flame to end his hopes of the win. when the dust settled it was Dave Teske in the #51 taking the win, with the #10 of Jeff Richards right behind him for second. Brian Gerber In the #38 crossed the line for third, with Neon Dion Wahl knocking on the door for fourth.

The Lynn's Service Center Dirt Devils ran a good race again. As the race went into the books it was Tyler Lind #97 taking the win. Chad Guyette #33 snagged second with Chris Quaintance #98 coming home in third.
