A Cool Night Didn't Damper Racing or Fireworks

As the Central States Clash got under way... things didn't look real good... with a cool wind blowing North to South right into the grandstand.  There was really know choice but to add some water to the track to try to get a handle on the dust.  After a couple of waterings it was not perfect, but it was acceptable.  Once the wind changed it was even better for the many haves that came out for the clash. Jennel and the girls from the Girls Garage did a great job with all the prizes we had on hand for the fans on this special Fan Appreciation night. As the night progressed I seen quite a few new cars at zone for the first time. We would like to thank them for coming and adding to the show for the fans. Jeff Bodendorfer was officially introduced to Victory Lane after winning heat #2 in the Fastrak Late Models division.  Mike Nehmer's night ended early after a had wreck with the #44 of Rich Garb it was such a hard it, I heard from a good source that Rich May be done for the year. Mike plans on being back this Friday.  Once again Central States Fireworks did a great job with the fireworks show... It was half and hour long, and thrilled the fans that stuck it out in the cool night air.  Thanks again, to all the guys from Central States Fireworks for great, safe show...

The Budweiser Fastrak Late Models didn't seem to have to much trouble with the dry track. Craig Bartz #85 worked his way to the front to hold on for the win!  He was fallowed by points leader Tom Naeyaert in the #9 Todd Jensema #89 had a good run coming home in third.

The Coors Light Modifieds started with a full field of 20 cars.  The dry, slick racing surface didn't sit well with the mods. From the cons to the feature the race was over run with cautions!  When it was all said and done it was Mitch McGrath #74 taking home the win, Mike Mullen #70m scooped up second, as Tim Lemirande #5x stormed to the checkers for third, Just ahead of Brian Drexler #8

The Total Power Sales Street Stocks feature provided some great racing.  When the dust settled, it was again Brian Drexler #8 taking the win!  Jeff Jahnke #0j held off the charge of Cozmic Cowboy, Franky Formiller for second, leaving Formiller a third place finish.

The Miller Lite Grand Nationals did a great job in their feature. As the checkers dropped it was Brian Henry #7 keeping the win. Tim Doehling #5 finished in second, with the #10 of Jeff Richard hot on his heals.

The Lynn's Service Center Dirt Devils didn't have much of an issue with track conditions. When the race was in the books it was the #33 car of Chad Guyette taking the win with a substitute driver. Eddie Lemay came home second in the #28 with TJ Smith taking third.
