Opening
Night Blues, Didn't Spoil Great Racing!
Well opening night at the zone didn't go off as everyone had
hoped. With many new workers and trying new things we had quite
a mess, we are sorry for the inconvenience. We feel we
have these first night bugs worked out and and look forward to this
week with the start of the Fastrak Late Models. We have been
working hard on the track everyday! Just like every other year it will
take a couple weeks to get the track back to where Mike Rabe will be
able to control it again. We have been at the track working on the
scoreboard instillation. The 2 huge One Ton I-Beams are up and
standing tall. Each I -bean reaches 11 feet into the earth and
is anchored with 6 Tons of Concrete and 650 lbs. of Steel
Re-bar. We wanted to have the sign up for this weeks race,
however at the direction of the experts... it was suggested we allow
the foundations to cure proper before we hang the 16' x 24' scoreboard
& the two 4' x 24' advertising panels. We went 8 years with
out it we don't want to rush it now and lose it to a storm. So
the boards will be going up this Saturday and Bullseye Electric will
have it wired and ready for Ricoshay's Rumble on May the18th, Which is
exactly 9 years from the inaugural race at the Zone.
At the request of a number of racers... This webmaster will no longer
be writing the stories for the website. I didn't want to do it
form the beginning, because it's just not what I do best. So
starting this week, the stories will be written by a retired newspaper
reporter. Seeing as how everything was delayed this first week,
I'm not going to do a run down on how they finished this week.
