Great Battles Witnessed at the Zone!

Finally a nice night for racing at the Speedzone!  It seems that the new features we implemented this year are starting to show their value. It's strange, Mike Rube put the same amount of water on the track as last week... The results was totally different though. It took quite a lot of packing by the drivers to get the track ready. But we ended up with one of the best tracks I have ever seen at the zone. I would like to that those drivers that went the extra mile staying out there packing to get the job done. For the first time heat race winner received trophies for heat race wins. The trophies are sponsored by Computer Corner of Oshkosh and Jonny's Racing Parts.  Which leads me to this... A number of driver had their first ever wins at the Speedzone last night.  Ron Paulick Sr. #20 won his Late Model heat race.  It's two bad every fan could not be down in Victory Lane to experience the excitement, energy and emotions that unfold on Victory Lane.  It's truly awesome!    Dan Knaus #22 Street Stock also won his first race ever!  By feature time...  IMHO the track was perfect, & fans seen some great hard fought battles in the features.  Vary few cautions in the races kept the program moving along and when the last set of checker flew I looked at my cell to see it was 10:13  I'd like to remind the fans... they are always welcome to come down to the pits after the races. To me it's a big part of going to the races.  Going down to check in with your favorite driver/drivers. It really ads to the night for the kids as well as the adults.  I know the drivers like to see the fans too... many have candy & hot shots for the kids... and maybe even a cold refreshment for the older folks.  So next week talk a walk down to the pits after the races. You know what they say, Life is good in the pits!

The street stocks took to the track with a full field of 22 cars.  Tim Reichenberger #21 didn't waste any time to get out front. With nearly a caution free race, drivers had their work cut out for them.  As lay 20 was completed and the checkers dropped, It was Tim that held off the chage of the rest taking home the Iron with the win. Mark Schults #70 battled with Brian Drexler # 8 for the second place finish. Brian took 3rd, leaving him and Schultz tied in the points chase. Shawn Haydon #00 the # 9 of FW Formiller were coming, but ran out of laps.

The Grand National's put on one heck of a race. Terry Vanroy #09 took the early lead. It wasn't long and the #99 of Jeremy Christians was knocking on the door of first place.  The Two battled lap after lap for the lead. On the white flag lap, Jeremy finally found the way around Terry snatching the win away in turn 3, leaving Terry with second. Jason Fish #21 grabbed third.

The Modifieds stormed the track with a full field of 20 cars. It looked as though Julie McDermid in the #1 was going to spank the boys, As she was off like a streak of lightening. She held off the charge of the boys for quite a few laps, then in turn 2 AArone Rake #02 made his move, taking Julie on the outside.  When 20 laps expired... Rake took the win, Jay Schraufnagel #10 took second.  Julie held on for a strong third place finish, with Dennis Schultz #39 hot on her heels for fourth.

The Late Model feature took to the track with 12 late Models. It was a pretty clean race... Craig Bartz #85 had his machine dialed in... Taking the win easily. Brett Swedberg #3 grabbed second. Paul Parker in the #10 took third, followed by the #6 of Scott Lewis for fourth.

The Dirt Devils took to the track with Aubyn Vogel back in the seat after her hard rollover last week.  When Mark Winters through the checkers it would be Tyler Lind edging out the H2O car of Mark Krause for the win. Dave Wilkins brought the 222 home in third.
