It's typical to see Sprint Cars parade around the track four wide before dropping the green but when the IRA Sprints visited the Oshkosh Speedzone on Friday night, they went four wide, for the lead, deep into the feature event. Mike Reinke escaped the thrilling frontstretch maneuver with the lead and went on to score his second series victory of the 2010 season.
The Modifieds will NOT be running this Friday, September 17, 2010.

The Champions were crowned after a tough start to Night Two of the Fall Classic. The night saw the pits moved to behind the grandstands and the races were delayed to get the track prepped. When racing got started it would be action packed.

The first two day special in many years opened up on Friday night at the Speedzone with 140 cars checking into the pit area. Cars from across the State in five divisions would battle it out on the Opening night for a spot in the Saturday night feature event. The event continues tonight with racing scheduled to start at 5 pm.
The Sport Mods just had an increase in the payout for the Fall Special. An anonamous sponsor added money to the Sport Mod payout. It is now $800.00 to win.

Andy Gross would set the early pace in the Street Stock feature event. Cautions would mar the early laps forcing single file restarts for the remainder of the race. When the race finally strung together, Gross would begin to put some distance on the field only to once again be slowed for a multi car wreck on lap five. Points leader Shawn Haydon would grab second with Daniel Knaus holding third for the first half of the race. After a lap eight caution the race would stay green with Gross picking up the win, Haydon was second, and Knaus third.
The Speedzone staff have talked and all agree that the Modified's will run their last points night on September 3, 2010. We thought we could do this with the Sprints but were wrong.
We are working on the 2011 schedule and we are looking at a mid week Special, non points, with another class like WDLMA and or the regular classes. This would have to be a Tuesday night show. We think a mid-week one night special wold be great for our schedule plus the two day Fall Special.
We will have more details as they unravel. Watch the website for more details.
