May 30, 2012; Oshkosh, WI - Rain interrupted a fast paced racing program last week but so far the 2012 season at Oshkosh Speedzone ranks as one of the most successful in the tracks history. Each week in 2012 has seen a very full pit area with over 120 cars appearing nightly in the five division program. Track attendance has also been on the rise as word has spread about the action packed racing at the third-mile clay oval.
This Friday Night, June 1st, the 2012 season will resume with Graphic Point Night at the races. Graphic Point is also the producer of the weekly point standing sheets passed out free of charge at the grandstand entrance, without the assistance of Graphic Point this weekly handout would not be possible. Graphic Point also produced the 2012 Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway posters and pocket schedules which can be seen on display at area businesses throughout the Fox Valley.
Graphic Point Night will feature all five weekly divisions. Including Automotive Supply Company Modifieds, Leon's Frozen Custard IMCA Northern Sport Modifieds, Miller Lite Grand Nationals, Total Power Sales Street Stocks and Lynn's Service Center Dirt Devils.
Bennett Family Insurance will also be a presenting sponsor for the evening as the program which they participated in last week did not reach its conclusion.
Oshkosh Speedzone has become known as "Wisconsin's Modified Action Track" with some of the fiercest Modified action taking place weekly in the Midwest. The track's premier division has seen upwards of 40 cars on a consistent basis. A starting feature fields of up to 24 cars have thrilled the fans each time the green flag drops on a feature race.
The IMCA Northern Sport Modifieds have also seen an increase in numbers thanks in part to the sanctioning of IMCA. The weekly participation saw a track record car count reached with 32 cars checking into the pit area on two consecutive weeks. The smooth and wide racing surface is also a primary reason there has been upwards of 70 total Modifieds in the pits each week.
All five classes are in action Friday evening with racing set for 7:00pm.
Adult admission tickets are just $10, students ages 11 through 15 are admitted for just $5 and children 10 and under are free to attend the races.
Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway is a 1/3 mile semi-banked clay oval located at the Sunnyview Expo Center which resides near the intersection of Highways 76 and County Trunk Y in Oshkosh.
