Oshkosh, WI, May 22, 2012: Youthful races fans of Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway will have an opportunity to enjoy a thrill of a lifetime. A chance to ride in race car with their favorite driver. On Friday Night, May 25th, children will be allowed to ride as a passenger in a tour around the track. Beginning at 6:15pm and lasting until the popular Kid's Ride Along program will take place during Bennett Family Insurance Night at the races. Parents are encouraged to arrive early to assure that their children have plenty of opportunity to ride along in a race car.

So for this season action has been fierce on the third-mile clay oval as the track has been experiencing near record car counts each week. Fast becoming known as "Wisconsin's Modified Action Track", upwards of 70 machines have been appearing each week between the two Modified divisions. Heading the way is the Automotive Supply Company Modified division where fields of over 40 cars have been appearing representing some of the finest Modified drivers in the area. So far this season Mike Mullen has captured a pair of feature races and is the only driver to have won more than a single feature at Oshkosh Speedzone in 2012.
Mike current sits second in the standings to his father Brian by a mere three points. Mike Wedelstadt is currently third in the standings with defending track champion Brian Drexler holding down fourth.
The Leon's Frozen Custards Sport Modifieds have been sanctioned by IMCA for the 2012 season and the move appears to have paid off with a record 32 entries appearing the past two weeks. Wins have been captured by Troy Jerovetz, Tracy Wassenberg and Kurt Moeller so far this season. Moeller sits atop the standings by a single point over Wassenberg with Jerovetz a mere five markers from the top of the standings.
In the Miller Lite Grand Nationals Tim Doehling, Steve Schneider and Kenny Richards have collected feature checkered with Tim Warner sitting in first place in the current standings.
Total Power Sales Street Stocks have also had no repeat winner with victories going to Scott Besaw, Bandon Reidner and Jerry Winkler. Winkler is currently atop the standings by three markers over Richard Garb. Defending champion Jeff Jungwirth holds down the third place points position.
New faces have graced victory lane on each night of 2012 so far in the Lynn's Service Center Dirt Devils. With Rick Fairbank, Mike Montie and Matt Brehmer collecting victories. Cory Wegner is the current division point leader by 16 markers, the largest point lead of any division.
All five classes are in action Friday evening with racing set for 7:00pm after the Kid's Ride Along portion of the program.
Adult admission tickets are just $10, students ages 11 through 15 are admitted for just $5 and children 10 and under are free to attend the races.
Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway is a 1/3 mile semi-banked clay oval located at the Sunnyview Expo Center which resides near the intersection of Highways 76 and County Trunk Y in Oshkosh.
