On November 2, 2011 the Oshkosh Speedzone held our regular monthly drivers meeting. There were about 100 people that attended, in addition to 4 tracks, 141, Seymour, Sturgeon Bay and Wilmont.
Brett Root (IMCA) along with Todd Staley (USRA/USMTS) each had a few minutes to talk about their sanctioning groups then we broke into smaller groups.
Most of what was talked about during the group meetings we will be talking about them on Saturday November 12 at the promoters meeting being held at 141 Speedway.
We will then bring what we discussed back to our December meeting and let everyone know where the rules are headed. We hope to have the rules updated and posted by the end of the year.
In regards to the Modified sanctioning, we are waiting to get information from Todd Staley (USRA). Larry myself and our techs met with Brett and Jim (IMCA) after the meeting and went over details. Todd Staley told us we would have an information package sent to us by Tuesday or Wednesday of this coming week. Larry and I will go over numbers and see where we go from there.
We asked the mod drivers that attended the meeting what their preference was. There were over 25 mod drivers there and they let us know their thoughts. We will use this information along with the numbers we received from USRA and IMCA to make our final decision. We will announce our decision by mid week of the 14th.
The meeting will be held at Oshkosh Lanes in Oshkosh December 7, 2011 at 7:00 pm.
Thank you to all that attended the meeting.
Larry Stratton, Jeff Lemiesz
