OSHKOSH SPEEDZONE RACEWAY ANNOUNCES NEW ANNOUNCER FOR 2012

(Oshkosh, WI) March 5 –Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway, Oshkosh, WI - The 2012 race season will see a new face at the track, Joe Verdegan. Joe will be taking over the announcing position for the 2012 race season that was vacated by Dave Buss at the end of the 2011 race season. Dave is taking a break from announcing to spend time with his wife and kids, Dave is going to help his kids in their own sporting activities as well as schooling.

At the start of the 2012 race season Joe will have been announcing 29 years. Joe started when he was just 14 at 141 Speedway and Seymour Speedway. Joe's dad had to drive him to the tracks to start out.

Joe has announced at many if not all the tracks within a hour's drive of Greenbay. Joe has a love and passion for dirt track racing. Joe also announced at the Speedzone when the track first opened back in 1999 and 2000.

Joe is an alumni of UW Oshkosh and graduated in 1991 with a bachelor of science in public relations and journalism degree. Joe was also a news reporter for two years at WOSH 1490 AM radio. When it comes to UW Oshkosh he is very proud to be a Titan!

As for 2012, Joe will also be calling the action at 141 Speedway and heading up the Badger Mod Touring Serious. Joe will also be hosting a live, one hour radio show on WCUB 980 AM. His first show which is Monday, April 9 will be live from 141 Speedway's Victory Pub
Joe will also be penning the weekly Green Bay Press Gazette Motorsports column on Fridays, with the first edition April 6.

Joe is the President of Elite Sports Marketing. It's a company that crafts driver and track portfolios for racing teams to use as tools in their search for marketing partners.

Joe also pens a motorsports marketing column in Ernie Saxton's Motorsports Marketing News, based out of Langhorne, Pennsylvania.
The staff and promoters of the Speedzone are looking forward to working with Joe for the 2012 race season.

The season opens Friday May 4, 2011 at 7 p.m. sponsored by Country 92.9 WXMM. There will be two open practice session slated for Saturday, April 21 and 28, cost of the practice is just $15.00 per person and a free grandstand. April 14 will be the Speedzone car show, details are in process. Trophies will be handed out for the 5 divisions that run weekly at the Speedzone, Automotive Supply Modifieds, Leon's Frozen Custard IMCA Northern Sport Modifieds, Miller Lite Grand Nationals, Total Power Sales Street Stocks and the awesome Lynn's Service Dirt Devils.

The WDLMA Late Models along with the Badger Mod Tour and the Leon's Frozen Custard IMCA Northern Sport Modifieds will take to the track Tuesday August 21 and the Bumper to Bumper/Budweiser IRA Outlaw Sprint cars will take to the track Friday June 22 and Friday August 24.
