POINT CHASES, FAIR RACES AND LATE MODEL SPECIALS OH MY!

Amazing Variety of Racing Events Showcased at Oshkosh Speedzone in August!

Oshkosh, WI; August 1, 2013 – August may be the final full month of racing at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway before September's specials, but it won't be short on action nor variety. In fact when it comes to unique events the diversity of the upcoming races at "The Zone" are unequaled.

A total of five race dates will be presented during the month of August and it starts this Friday night August 2nd, with the Leroy Dehn Memorial race presented by Weyauwega Star Dairy and Knaus Cheese. The special event named in honor of the late Leroy Dehn is the next in the chase for the track championship as all five weekly divisions will be hand. Nearly 120 cars will be representing the classes which include the Automotive Supply Company Modifieds, Hansel Trucking IMCA Northern Sport Modifieds, Outlaw Chassis Grand Nationals, Total Power Sales Street Stocks and Lynn’s Service Center Dirt Devils.

The championships are still up for grabs in each of the divisions as no one has yet to lock up any of the points races. Expect the action to heat up as there are limited opportunities to earn points in the season long point battle.

Racing action is set to begin promptly at 7:00pm with adult tickets $10, students ages 11 through 15 are admitted for $5 and children 10 and under are FREE.

Pit gates open at 4:00 PM, Grandstands at 5:00 PM and Racing at 7:00 PM.

A scant four days later Oshkosh Speedzone is back in action on August 6th with a unique Tuesday night race program presented during the Winnebago County Fair.

Truly a family event it's fun for family members of all ages who will be able to see all the activities a county fair has to offer and then wrap up the day of family fun with an action packed evening at the races.

Once again all five divisions will be in action with a complete point program.

Fair attendees can use their general admission pass to witness the racing action which will be taking place on the third-mile clay oval. The fair admission includes admission onto grounds, grandstand shows and unlimited rides, this includes the ability to attend the races at no additional charge above the cost of a fair admission ticket. The fair officially opens at 5:00pm, with racing action set to take place at 7:00pm.

Advance tickets into the fair are just $10 if tickets are purchased by Monday, August 5th. General admission fair tickets purchased at the gate will be $12. To receive the discount fair admission tickets must be pre-ordered prior to Monday, August 5th.

There is no regular racing taking place on Friday night August 9th, but you will be sure to want to catch the action the following week on August 16th as action resumes with the CitizensFirst/B-104 Kid's Ride Along Night. A complete point program will take place for all five weekly divisions. In addition to a full racing program young fans will have a chance to ride along with their favorite drivers prior to the show as they get a chance to parade around the track in a race car.

Then on Friday Night August 23rd the George Scheffler Memorial race will be taking place and this year at the Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway will be hosting the prestigious event for the first time.

One of the biggest late model shows in the Midwest is live at The Zone presenting the fastest fendered cars on dirt as the WDLMA Late Models will be featured for the event.

WDLMA point leaders Justin Hirt and Tim Buhler will lead a field which should approach 30 Late Models as the area's best drivers to battle for an impressive $5,000 to win. Expect other stars including Russ and Rick Scheffler, Jim and Justin Schmidt, Pete and Paul Parker along with area standouts Ron Berna, Nick Anvelink, Brett Sweberg and Brad Mueller to be here in action.

The event will be unmatched in Wisconsin dirt late model racing this season.

Plus for fans of the IMCA Modifieds you will witness firsthand why Oshkosh Speedzone is called "Wisconsin's Modified Action Track". The Automotive Supply Company Modifieds will be competing for a top prize of $1,000.

IMCA has stepped up and added additional prestige to the event by making the show a qualifying race for the 2014 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, Belleville Motorsports North Central Region, Allstar Performance State and local track points will be awarded.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m., the grandstand opens at 5 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. RACEceivers are required.

Special event pricing is in effect for this program. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $10 for students ages 11-15 and free for kids 10 and under. Pit passes are $30.

The month of August will conclude on Friday night August 30th with the running of the LaSure's Banquet Hall season championships.
