Speedzone Carshow

Oshkosh, WI, April 9, 2012: Fans wanting ahead start of the 2012 racing season are invited to attend the annual Oshkosh Speedzone Car Show this Saturday, April 14th. This year's event will be held at a new location as Lowe's Home Improvements teams up with the Speedzone for a special day of activity for the whole family at the Lowe's Oshkosh location at 1075 North Washburn Street in Oshkosh, WI. Those attending the show that are traveling on Highway 41 to arrive at the location are encouraged to use the 9th Street exit and then travel north on Washburn Street to arrive at Lowe's.

The car show will setup between the hours of 9:00am and 11:00am with activities throughout the afternoon. In addition to the Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway car show, Lowe's will also be putting on a Kid's Safety event with The McGruff Crime Dog. Various other children's activities will be taking place up until 2:00pm. Habitat for Humanity will be on hand serving concessions and WXMM 92.9fm will broadcast live from the show.

The all new 2012 season track posters will make their debut at the event and season pocket schedules will be available.

Trophies will be handed out for the five divisions that run weekly at the Speedzone. These include the Automotive Supply Company Modifieds, Leon's Frozen Custard IMCA Northern Sport Modifieds, Miller Lite Grand Nationals, Total Power Sales Street Stocks and Lynn's Service Dirt Devils. Awards will be presented just after 2:00pm

Race teams attending the show are encouraged to fill out their driver's information sheets to earn the 5 bonus points for having the sheet completed prior to the April 22nd deadline.

After the car show attention turns to the Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway itself as the first of two pre-season practice sessions will be held on Saturday, April 21st. The second session will be held on Saturday April 28th. Both days the pit gates will open at 11:00am with the track open for practice from Noon until 4:00pm. Grandstand admission will be FREE at both practice sessions with pit passes being sold for just $15.

The season opens Friday May 4, 2011 with racing starting at 7:00pm. The event is sponsored by WXMM 92.9fm Country radio.

Adult admission tickets are just $10, students ages 11 through 15 are admitted for just $5 and children 10 and under are free to attend the races.

Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway is a 1/3 mile semi-banked clay oval located at the Sunnyview Expo Center which resides near the intersection of Highways 76 and County Trunk Y in Oshkosh. Weekly racing Friday Night racing continues until September.
